Fire Safety in Smart Buildings: Better Safe than Sorry!

Enterprise Technology Review | Friday, September 06, 2019

Emerging fire safety measures can prevent accidents and other dangers in smart buildings.

FREMONT, CA: Technological advancements have smartened everything around the living. The Internet of Things (IoT)  powers a new age of smart buildings that are suitably regulated with the advantages of property proprietors and managers. IoT empowers operational systems that produce more detailed and beneficial information for advancing operations and providing the most enjoyable experiences for tenants. Accelerating this transformation, IoT building blocks streamline how building systems communicate to the cloud and exhaustively examine building data. This uncovers new business perception, capable of driving real value and higher performance. Even though these buildings are smart and intelligent, working everything by itself, it is not entirely risk-proof. Smart buildings also need to be safe buildings inherently.

Most of the following cities have high accelerations and dense integrations of buildings. This makes it more imperative to rapidly and expertly address any fire situation to reduce and contain any loss of life and property. The speed of local acknowledgment and the degree of preparation is crucial when maximum cities have dense traffic situations. It is highly unlikely that during an emergency, the fire department can reach the required location with the required equipment on time. According to a study, some of the recent fire accidents have emphasized the fact that such areas cannot be taken lightly as the consequences can be mortifying.

The convergence of a few emerging technologies offers new options to facilitate a step-change in how safety can be addressed in the smart buildings. To be acknowledged as truly smart, these smart buildings are coherently addressing emergencies before it's too late. It is also focusing on factors that can help prevent the occurrence of such fire circumstances. The developing technologies, when aligned collectively to complement each other, deliver the promise of fire safety.
